Scottish Blackface Wool is very coarse! This roving is primarily white with some black fibres that are naturally occurring on the animal. This wool has very little crimp and has a long staple length. This wool is typically used for carpets. We've made this available for anyone interested in something a bit different - perhaps for a breed study project or some hefty strong handspun for use in projects such as spinning your own macrame cord, tapestry weaving, or making yarn for use in heavy outerwear or carpet applications.
